Septage Haulers must have appropriate City and State of New Hampshire vehicle license(s) before EPD may grant a permit to discharge septic waste at the Septage Receiving Facility (SRF).
A permit application may be obtained at the Administration Office between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Existing trucks must renew their licenses annually.
All haulers receive a bar-coded card for each individual truck that has been approved for septage discharging at SRF. The card records the date, time, truck identification and gross vehicle weight. Once this information is recorded, an automatic valve opens allowing the truck to empty its contents.
After the discharge is finalized, the hauler activates a switch that prints out a recorded slip of the transaction with the final vehicle weight and the total gallons discharged. This information is transferred to the master computer for billing and data compilation. The EPD has two licensed weighmasters to certify and validate each transaction.
