Building Permits
Building Permits are available online. If you would like to have an application mailed, please contact the Planning & Community Development Department at 603-624-6450 or PCD@ManchesterNH.gov.
Deck Details - 1 & 2 Family Residential Structures
When applying for a permit to build, repair or replace decks and/or porches, construction information will need to be provided (ie. type of material being used). A sample form is provided for this purpose.
Demolition Permits
Demolition permits are not available online. If you would like to have an application mailed, please contact the Planning and Community Development Department at 603-624-6450 or PCD@ManchesterNH.gov. Prior to issuance of a demolition permit, a completed Demolition Sign-Off Form signed off by all utilities is required.
Electrical Permit Application
Electrical Permit Applications can be filled out online however they must be printed, signed and submitted to the Planning and Community Development Department by mail along with the appropriate fees. We do not currently accept applications electronically. (Please note, any fees calculated are subject to change upon review of the application.)
When submitting an application, please note that all multi-family dwellings, non owner-occupied single family dwellings and commercial projects require a licensed NH Master electrician. In addition, please provide a brief description of the work to be performed as well as an estimate of the cost.
Upon review, approval and payment of fees, an approved permit will be mailed. No applications will be processed which do not contain the required information. No work should be commenced prior to receipt of an approved permit.
Elevator/Amusement Permit Application

Plot Plans-Residential
Many building permits involving outdoor projects require submission of a site/plot plan. We have attached a sample plan for reference purposes. Any and all structures you have on your lot must be shown on this plan and the plan must be drawn to scale with all setback information noted.

Sign Permit Application
Sign Permit Applications can be filled out online however they must be printed, signed and submitted to the Planning and Community Development Department by mail along with the application fee of $25.00. We do not currently accept applications electronically. Please note, any fees calculated are subject to change upon review of the application.

Yard Sale Permit Application
Yard Sale Permits can be filled out online, printed and submitted to our office along with a check in the amount of $5.00 made payable to the City of Manchester. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return mailing. Allow 2-3 business days for receipt.
Two yard sales per calendar year are allowed.
