Already Retired? This page is designed to guide you through the steps and information you need to maintain your benefits and stay connected as a retired City of Manchester employee.
Steps for Retirees
1. Stay Informed About Your Retirement Benefits
- NH Retirement System (NHRS): Keep your contact information updated and regularly review your benefits. Visit the NHRS website or call their office for support.
- Contributory Retirement System: Reach out to the Human Resources department with any questions or updates about your retirement benefits.
2. Review Your Health and Dental Insurance Options
- Plan Details: Stay familiar with the health and dental plans available to retirees. Visit the Retiree Under 65 Plan or Over 65 Plan pages for more details.
- Changes in Coverage: If your personal situation changes (e.g., spouse turning 65), contact Human Resources to explore your coverage options.
3. Update Your Enrollment or Declination Forms
- If you need to change your health or dental insurance enrollment, complete and submit updated forms to Human Resources.
- Remember: You may only re-enroll if you maintain continuous employer-sponsored coverage or meet specific criteria.
4. Submit Monthly Premium Payments (Contributory Retirees Only)
- Check Payments: Contact Human Resources for payment options or assistance.
Additional Resources
- Vision Coverage: Vision is not offered as a retiree benefit. However, retirees may access COBRA for vision coverage temporarily.
- Life Insurance: Basic life insurance coverage continues for 8 weeks after your retirement. You may port this policy to an individual plan.
- Health and Dental Rate Charts: Review the latest fiscal year rate charts for NHRS and Contributory retirees on the Retirement Information page.
