Due to rapid growth in the northwest section of the city, a temporary single wide trailer was put into service as Station 4 at 146 Hackett Hill Rd on September 19, 1988 on land leased from the University of NH. It was manned with a spare engine until the spring of 1990 when a new Seagrave Quint combination pumper/110 foot aerial ladder was received.
In April 2013, a new state of the art station was opened directly across the street from the old station at 141 Hackett Hill Rd. The new facility is much larger with space for more equipment and the potential for growth. The property also provides direct access to Interstate 293 for quicker responses to incidents on the highway. The northwest section of the city finally has a permanent fire station.
