The City's transfer station provides an alternative disposal option for most wastes and recyclables generated in Manchester. Fees and restrictions apply to most materials. The Drop Off Facility accepts most wastes and recyclables generated in Manchester, NH. The Manchester Drop Off Facility serves as a crucial resource for waste disposal, catering to various customer needs. Its primary aim is to provide a designated area for the disposal of materials not permitted in regular trash carts. This facility accommodates properties ineligible for municipal collection, commercial customers operating within the city, and contractors disposing of waste generated within city limits.
Acceptable Materials
Fees are waived for a limited number of residential items and for scrap metal. There is no charge to either residential or commercial permit holders to dispose of bulky items that are primarily metal.

Bulky Items
Eligibility and Permits
Annual permits are required to use the facility. Permits are valid for one year from date of issue, and are sold at the facility. Manchester residents, businesses/non-profits operating in Manchester, and outside contractors disposing waste generated in Manchester are eligible.
- Residents: Residential permits require proof of residency, such as a current driver's license with a Manchester address, valid photo ID with a recent utility bill, property tax statement, or lease agreement for a Manchester address. Only one permit is issued per household, and separate units at the same address are considered distinct households.
- Businesses/Non-Profits: Commercial permits are issued to usinesses/non-profits operating in Manchester or contractors disposing waste generated within city limits. Proof includes a current City of Manchester business license, recent utility bill, property tax statement, lease agreement showing a Manchester business/NPO name and address, or relevant contract/confirmation letter signed by a Manchester property owner. The City reserves the right to reject material from permitted entities if it appears to be generated outside of Manchester.
